Two 1960s "Poltrona Del Rey" Lounge Chairs By Jorge Zalszupin in Rio Rosewood
£10,000.00Price
An extremely rare pair of "Poltrona Del Rey" lounge chairs by Brazilian designer Jorge Zalszupin, made circa 1960.
This design is documented on page 100 of Maria Cecilia Loschiavo dos Santos's catalogue "Jorge Zalszupin, Design Moderno no Brasil", by Éditions Olhares, São Paulo 2014.
The sleek lines, half-moon backrests, generous proportions and luxurious materials combine for powerful visual impact. The florid rosewood and original upholstery confirm their vintage.
They are in good vintage condition. The rosewood is structurally robust, the upholstery showing minor signs of wear but presenting well. They can be re-upholstered at cost on request.
Exemplifying Brazilian modernism at its most refined, they would enhance any modern space.
