A rare 1950s Italian sputnik chandelier by the renowned makers Stilnovo.
This graceful fixture has a red orb at its centre, from which six curved arms are arranged, suggesting the orbits of satellites. Each has a red conical bulb holder at the end, the bulbs suggesting the actual satellites. It is adorned with brass finial, stem and ceiling rose.
The red enamel is original, the brass with a warm, golden patina that can only be seen in truly vintage fixtures. The bulb holders take E14 bulbs. Adapters to E12 bulbs are easily acquired if necessary.
The space-age resonance and dynamic design create a truly striking impression.
