Narrow 1960s Danish Extending Banqueting Table in Teak by Arne Hovmand Olsen
A sleek 1960s extending dining table in teak by Danish designer Arne Hovmand Olsen for Mogens Kold.
With a width of 84cm it would work perfectly in a narrow dining space. It has a maximum extended length of 240cm, reducing to a minimum of 160cm. Its smallest configuration seats six diners, extending to accommodate up to twelve.
The rich teak grain runs the full length of the table surface, even when the extension leaves are in place. This creates a beautifully unified effect. The leaves can be stored within the table when not in use.
The Mogens Kold maker plaque is affixed to the underside. It is pictured in its smaller size with four of our Johannes Andersen dining chairs. We have a variety of teak dining chair sets to match.
It has been reconditioned throughout. There are one or two very fine surface scratches, commensurate with vintage. It is stamped to the oak frame and underside with the number "31". This may be the table's model number.
