1960s Russian Impressionist Oil Painting by Aleksander Gusarevich "Fishing Day"

£600.00Price

A sumptuous mid-20th century oil on board by Russian painter Aleksander Gusarevich (1908-1970).

Entitled "Fishing Day", circa 1960, it is signed A Gusarevich. It is framed in a high quality walnut frame.

This engaging fishing scene is depicted with free brushstrokes and a refined palette.  Two figures sit near a boat on a river, against a wooded hillside backdrop.

The tall, sunlit trees dwarf the fishermen and are reflected in the water, creating a sense of overwhelming nature.
