1960s Metamorphic Dry Bar by Torbjorn Afdal

A 1960s Norwegian rosewood metamorphic dry bar cabinet by Torbjorn Afdal for Bruksbo.
 
In Rio rosewood with brass detail and black melamine surface, this compact drinks cabinet transforms into a full size bar. 
 
It can be used in its compact form, with a smaller drink preparation surface. For parties the larger serving surface slides and unfolds into position. The locks on the open doors double as a holding mechanism, keeping the surface in position and preventing the doors from swinging. 
 
It includes horizontal storage for nine bottles, ample further storage for more bottles, a drawer for accoutrements, a shelf for glasses, as well as door shelving for further bottles and drink preparation equipement. It can be easily moved on smooth casters.
 
This ingeniously designed bar is the ultimate party accessory. The beautifully figured rosewood is in excellent vintage condition.
