1960s Danish Model 65 Desk / Vanity Dresser in Rosewood by Arne Wahl Iversen

An original 1960s "Model 65" writing desk by Danish designer Arne Wahl Iversen for Vinde Mobelfabrik.
 
This rare model features a lifting surface with interior mirror and receptacles for jewellry and cosmetics. Three finely-crafted rosewood boxes have sliding lids, one with felt lined bottom for fragile items. The central formica tub can be removed for easy access. A capacious drawer to the left and two smaller drawers to the raised rear section offer further storage. 
 
Both drawer and vanity sections retain their two original keys. The Rio rosewood has rich and varied grain, complemented with the brass detail. The Danish maker and Vinde manufacturer marks are stamped to the left drawer and the underside.
 
A compact but exquisite design, it can be admired from all angles, allowing for free-standing positioning. It is in excellent restored condition throughout.
