A beautiful 1950s "Unit B" sideboard by Robin Day for Hille.
Made circa 1953, the body is made from satin agba wood, with walnut veneered drawers and solid walnut door handles. The doors are made from black Vitrolite, a strengthened form of glass. It is mounted on sturdy steel legs.
This design was particularly favoured by Robin Day, having one in his own home. The drawers are very capacious, the interior with shelves adapted for bottles.
It has been fully restored throughout. There are one or two filled-in fleabites to the Vitrolite, which do not detract. A beguiling statement piece that will transform any interior.
