A rare 1950s modernist desk and chair set by Robin Day for Hille.
The desk is the "Executive Junior" model, in walnut and leather with a bank of very capacious drawers.
The chair is model 661 in walnut and leather, initially designed for the 1951 Festival of Britain at the Royal Festival Hall.
Purchased from Hille in 1957, this early set retains the original purchase receipt to the underside of the desk.
Both chair and desk also retain "Hille" plaques, to the underside and drawer respectively. They have both been carefully reconditioned, the chair with replacement leather seat cover.
