1940s Swedish Rocking Chair by Gustaf A Berg
A particularly fine 1940s birch bentwood rocking chair by Swedish designer Gustaf Axel Berg.
An early importer of Alvar Aalto furniture, Gustaf Berg's own designs were influenced by the Finnish master. His organic works have received considerable acclaim in their own right, with examples in New York's MOMA.
This chair is in excellent structural condition and can be used for seating as well as admired for its sculptural qualities. The original webbing has some patina in keeping with vintage.
